Discovery Island

Discovery Island was the new name for Treasure Island, the island in the middle of Bay Lake. The island was home to over 140 species of animals and 250 species of tropical plants. Bird watching was one of the more popular things to do on the island. Some of the animals were:

  • Alligators
  • Eagles
  • Flamingos
  • Lemurs
  • Macaws
  • Monkeys
  • Pelicans
  • Tortoises

Discovery island was also home to the last Dusky Seaside Sparrow named Orange Band who died on June 17, 1987 making the species extinct.

Upon arrival to the island, guests had the option to go on a scavengar hunt looking for 20 answers on signs that were placed around the island. Once completed, guests turn the sheet into the Thirsty Perch for a button titled Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Earth Day.
