Welcome to WDW History.com where we are trying to provide all the historical information
about the parks and attractions as possible. Many sources were used in the creation
of these pages from fan web sites, books, brochures, Disney website, forums and

The WDWHistory Wiki is now live and available! We are slowly converting the current site into the Wiki which is available at wiki.wdwhistory.com. Please feel free to create an account and help us keep the site as up to date and accurate as possible.

There is a new section that will display what happened on this day in Walt Disney World's history. You can
click here to view a list of the dates attractions were announced, construction started, cast member previews began, soft openings began, opened, became seasonal, closing was announced, closed and demolition began.
This list will grow along with the rest of the site as more information is added.
I'm going to start blogging about WDWHistory.com and news relating to the site here. Currently on the site, I have been going through Walt Disney World's website to gather information on all the restaurants currently open. I want to get all the ones that are opens information so that way when they do close, I have the information. The site is about more than just history, I include the present and future as well since one day they will be history.
I only have 43 restaurants left to go for information gathering and then i'll turn my sights elsewhere for resources. I might look through Jim Hill Media next but his site is hard to mine through for information. I did start looking through the tax rolls and could go back to doing that as well.

This project started in late December 2005 and data input began in late January
2006. We are currently working on going park by park and land by land and entering
data either found or submitted.
