New York Street

New York Street was a facade setup in the back lot area that was themed like a small neighborhood in the shadows of the New York City skyline.

Changes

Originally the New York Streets was part of the backlot tour but was later changed to where the ride would only get a view down the main street. The streets were later changed in late 2005 to be the Streets of America. San Francisco was added to the skyline including the Golden Gate Bridge and Chicago has been rumored to be added next.

Singing in the Rain

The umbrella with 'rain' was removed in 2005 when San Francisco was added to the area. The umbrella was attached to a street light and had a pressure sensor underneath it. Once a guest would step on it, rain would shower down over the umbrella similar to the scene in Singing in the Rain.
