The Seven Seas Lagoon is a man made lake located in front of the Magic Kingdom and is circled by the Monorail. The Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Polynesian Resorts also sit on the lake with the Grand Floridian and Polynesian having sandy beaches on its shore. The lake its self is only 14 feet deep at its deepest point and was built during the construction of the park.[1] Soil removed to create the lake was used to raise the land around the Magic Kingdom and to cover the Utilidors.[4]
Wave machine
Bay Lake originally had a wave machine in 1971 that lasted for a few years but had to be discontinued due to the erosion on the beach at the Polynesian.[2][3]
