Kitchen Kabaret was a 13 minute and 30 second audio-animatronic musical show based on nutrition sponsored by Kraft. This show was similar to other shows at the Magic Kingdom except it tried to teach a lesson on nutrition. The entrance and queue for the show was themed like a back alley of a large city. Posters on the wall gave you a preview of the acts that were going to be on during the show. The stage was setup similar to the Mickey Mouse Revue with two smaller stages on the left and right of the main stage. Above the main stage was an art deco sign for the show in neon lights.

[edit] Show Details

The show started with a Bonnie, a Betty Crockerish character, who was down about having to plan another dinner. The main stage would open up with the main characters, all Kraft condiments, who would sing a song about the four food groups. On the stage was a jar of mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, Parmesan cheese, mustard, milk, cheese, yogurt, and horseradish. There were many other acts with a total of four acts.

[edit] Act One - Mr. Dairy Goods and his Stars of the Milky Way

This act starts with the refrigerator opening slowly and performers coming out in a cloud. The group is lead by Goods, a milk carton, along with Miss Cheese, Miss Yogurt and Miss Ice Cream. They sang in a 30s style and when it was complete went back into the fridge.

[edit] Act Two - The Cereal Sisters

The next act started with characters who were on top of a cabinet to the left of the sink. Rennie Rice, Connie Corn and Mairzy Oats sang in a swing style and told the story of "The Toast of the Town". It was a loaf of bread that played the trumpet who started as dough and rose to a star.

[edit] Act Three - Hamm n' Eggz

Hamm n' Eggz would rise out of the oven in a cloud of steam and would chat with each other with a trumpet and banjo playing in the background. The act included a bit of comedy and a song about meat with a slide show presented over the sink. The two characters began to argue and went back into the oven where they came from.

[edit] Act Four

This act began in the dark with stars and firefly's behind the window. Spotlights would then focus on three vegetables in the sink and a basket of fruit. The group was known as the Colander Combo and Fiesta Fruit. They sang the shows signature song "Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit". During this song, Bonnie came down from the ceiling on a crescent moon and looks like Carmen Miranda. Fireworks would shoot off in the distance in the window and ended with the broccoli.

[edit] Closing

Kitchen Kabaret was closed when Nestle took over sponsorship of the attraction. It was replaced by Food Rocks.[2]
