Primeval Whirl is a wild mouse style coaster at Dinoland U.S.A. that was purchased by the Walt Disney company from Reverchon. It was an 'off the shelf' coaster that involved very limited fabrication from Disney. The coaster is also lightly themed in a carnival ride style with cartoon dinosaurs and time machines. It also features the end of dinosaurs as caused by a meteor in a comedic way[2].
[edit] Cast Member Death
Karen Price, a Disney Cast Member, fell from the ride platform and hit her head on November 24, 2007 (2007 -11-24). She died 5 days later.
On March 5, 2008 (2008 -03-05), Disney announced they had made changes to the ride to enhance its safety for Cast Members. Disney installed sensors on the areas that are off limits that will shut down the ride if tripped. Additionally, they are indicating these areas with bold markings[3].
