Tropical Serenade opened with the park and was an exact copy of the Disneyland show titled the Enchanted Tiki Room. The Disneyland pre-show was different from the Magic Kingdom's. The Disneyland attraction was actually owned by Walt Disney instead of WED Enterprises which is why it had his name in front of it at Disneyland but not the Magic Kingdom. The birds were originally to be used in a themed restaurant which never got built. The Florida show was originally sponsored by Florida Citrus Growers until it closed.

[edit] Show Changes

The show closed down in September of 1997 to be refurbished. It re-opened less than a year later to become The Enchanted Tiki Room "Under New Management". Many were upset by the changes since it was so different from the original creation of Walt's.
