The Universe of Energy has always been about teaching riders the usage of energy and how we get energy. Currently it is Ellen's Energy Adventure but it used to be just the Universe of Energy sponsored by Exxon and then by ExxonMobil. The show was to give an informative show on how fossil fuels were created and the new show describes the same yet also gives us alternative energy which is pollution free.

The building of the Universe of Energy was built along with the Epcot center and opened with the park in 1982 (1982). The front of the building is covered with mirrors and a rainbow colored paint on the side. The entrance to the building is actually behind a smaller building which continues the triangle shaped lines of the building The top of the building is covered with over 2 acres of photo voltaic cells which provide 15% of the power the building needs.
[edit] Ride Details
The ride system has not changed much from the original to the current ride. The ride system is huge moving theater seats which seat 97 riders each. Each of the vehicles weigh over 30,000 lbs and are guided by a 1/8th inch thick wire embedded in the floor. The vehicles detect the wire and follow it along the path of the ride. The theater screens stretch over 220 degrees.

Between May 1, 2006 (2006 -05-01) to May 14, 2006 (2006 -05-14) the building was closed down for the pre-show theater carpet to be replaced along with the theater screens in the first theater.

There have been rumors of the building and shows closure in 2008 (2008)/2009 (2009) for either a rehab or a totally new pavilion. This would be after the Wonders of Life is also either rehabbed or replaced.
